Founder – Sangwan Poultry Group
Success in the agriculture and livestock industry demands vision, courage, and relentless hard work. The journey of Mr. Dalbir Sangwan, founder of Sangwan Poultry Group, is a powerful example of how determination and strategic thinking can transform a small rural initiative into a rapidly growing poultry enterprise in North India.
Humble Beginnings – The Start of a Dream (1998)
The story of Sangwan Poultry began in 1998 in Village Bapoli near Radaur, Haryana, when Mr. Dalbir Sangwan started his poultry business with just 2,400 birds under the name M/s Sangwan Poultry Farm.
At that time, poultry farming was still developing in the region and was often considered a risky venture. Despite limited resources and infrastructure, Mr. Sangwan had strong faith in the future of poultry farming. He understood that eggs are one of the most affordable and nutritious sources of protein, and the demand for quality eggs would continue to grow.
With dedication and discipline, he focused on proper bird care, quality feed, hygiene, and efficient farm management. His commitment gradually paid off as the farm began to perform well.
Growth and Expansion
Through continuous reinvestment and careful planning, Sangwan Poultry expanded steadily. The company primarily operates in the layer poultry segment, which focuses on egg production.
Today, the Sangwan Poultry units collectively house approximately 600,000 birds and produce nearly 500,000 eggs every day, reflecting decades of hard work and visionary leadership.
Expansion to Uttar Pradesh (2013)
A major milestone came in 2013, when the Government of Uttar Pradesh introduced subsidy schemes to promote poultry farming. Recognizing this opportunity, Mr. Sangwan established a large poultry unit in Village Kuiyan, District Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.
The project was developed on 14 acres of land with an investment of approximately ₹56 Crores. The successful establishment of this farm demonstrated Mr. Sangwan’s ability to identify opportunities and execute large-scale projects effectively. The Hardoi unit has received appreciation from government authorities for its professional management and operational efficiency.
Corporate Transformation (2018)
As the business continued to grow, the original Bapoli farm was converted into a Private Limited Company in 2018, strengthening the organization’s operational and financial structure.
Spread across 9 acres of land with an investment of around ₹40 Crores, the unit now operates with modern poultry infrastructure, advanced equipment, and strong biosecurity measures.
A New Mega Project – Sangwan Layers Pvt Ltd
Continuing its growth journey, the group has launched another major project under M/s Sangwan Layers Pvt Ltd at Village Kaserla Kalan near Shahbad Markanda, District Ambala, Haryana.
This upcoming facility is spread across 20 acres and will house approximately 420,000 birds, with an investment of around ₹80 Crores. Once operational, this unit will significantly boost the company’s egg production capacity, increasing daily production from 5 lakh eggs to nearly 10 lakh eggs.
Diversification – Sangwan Traders
To strengthen its supply chain and market presence, the group also operates M/s Sangwan Traders, which deals in egg and poultry feed trading.
The company also plans to establish a modern poultry feed mill in the near future. This will help ensure consistent feed quality, reduce costs, and supply feed to poultry farms across the region.
